Portuguese-based forward Abdul-Aziz Yakubu is confident about his Black Stars chances ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 23-year-old who plies his trade for Rio Ave has been outstanding this season, scoring 5 goals in seven appearances in the Portuguese top-flight.

Despite his fine form, he missed out in Otto Addo’s 29-man squad for friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua on September 23 and 27.

According to the forward, he is hoping his top form will see him earn a place in Otto Addo’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“I think so [on whether he has a chance], the numbers speak for me,” Aziz told Zerozero in an interview.

“Ghanaian websites and journalists talk about me, so I believe, let’s see. I hope to have the opportunity to represent my country one day and if it’s at the World Cup, perfect.”
