Pre-season has affected our goal scoring - Kotoko coach Lugarusic

Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Zdravko Lugarusic has admitted that his team is struggling to find the back of the net as expected due to improper pre-season regiment.

Kotoko narrowly beat Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday thanks to the ingenuity of Sarfo Gyamfi who won a penalty which was eventually converted by Abeiku Ainooson to hand the warriors their second win of the season.

Despite winning two games out of the three matches played so far, Lugarusic was worried that the goals are not forthcoming as expected.

“I don’t think if the goals are not coming it has to do with the formation, you realise that majority of the strikers did not have enough of the pre-season routine, that is why they finding it difficult to adapt”, he said.

However the trainer had no doubt that the strikers will begin to find their strength in the final third.

Asante Kotoko will travel to Obuasi to face Ashanti Gold sporting Club at the Len Clay sports stadium in one of the league’s determinant fixture on Sunday afternoon.
