Talking out after Carabao Cup demise against Tottenham, Burnley and Welsh NT 26-year old right-back Connor Roberts stated:

It has been a while coming. It’s nice to get back out there, but a shame we couldn’t get a positive result We limited them to few chances but in the first half we could have looked after the ball a bit better. In the second half we got a few crosses in, a few long throws but it just didn’t fall for us.

There are positives to take from it but we need to improve in the final third and try and stick a few in the back of the net. It’s not a given you’ll walk into any Premier League team and Lowts [Matt Lowton] has been playing well. It’s down to me to keep training well and try and offer something a bit different when I get my chance.

Coming here is a completely different challenge. I’ve enjoyed it, all the lads are great and I obviously know Wayne from Wales. I just want to get involved as much as I can. I’ve been on the bench in the Premier League and played tonight so hopefully I can get chances to impress and get more minutes in my legs
