According to a new rumor that first appeared on French outlet Le10 Sport and later picked up by English newspaper The Daily Express, Tottenham Hotspurs now seem to be one of the front runners to sign Lyon's Houssem Aouar, after he has been also linked with Arsenal.
The Belgian young standout has raised interest once again, after last year both Barcelona and Juventus looked to be keen on the player, but later retracted any possible interest due to Olympique Lyonnais' high demands nearing 45M GBP. However, this year could be a different story, with the French club missing out on the Champions League, something that could lower their asking price if they were to receive interesting offers.
Arsenal manager Arteta's interest for the player is well documented, as he first laid eyes on Aouar when he was at Manchester City working under Guardiola, and now he seems to be pushing hard to bring him to Arsenal after an attempt failed last year. But now Tottenham could play the spoiler, especially if they are able to sell Harry Kane, as Fabio Paratici was already interested in the player last year when he was at Juventus. Aouar's price tage would surely come down from the 45M GBP Lyon were asking for last year, so it is looking like we could see the young Frenchman move on from League 1 this season.
