According to the Telegraph, Manchester United are concerned that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 may compel them to play their final Champions League group game against Young Boys in a neutral country, rather than at Old Trafford next week.

It will be Ralf Rangnick's debut game in Europe as United manager, and he will have nothing to lose after the Reds qualified for the knockout stages last time out.

Uefa will now seek clarification from the Swiss government on whether Young Boys must spend 10 days in quarantine after returning from the United Kingdom.

This comes after Switzerland imposed further restrictions on travelers from the United Kingdom and other nations after cases of the New COVID-19 strain were discovered.

Young Boys' game against United on Wednesday must be shifted to a neutral country if they are not exempt from the quarantine requirements, according to Uefa rules, or the game would be postponed until the new year.
