The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that he was a big fan of the late Christian Atsu.
According to him, he spent a lot of time admiring the former Chelsea and Newcastle United man when he watched him play.
“There are times when it is not pleasant to be in this chair, today is one of them. The young man we are all mourning is an exceptional athlete, a gift to our nation and those of us who are football fanatics and I count myself as one who spent a lot of time admiring his exploits on the field,” President Akufo-Addo said.
The President said this when he hosted the family of Christian Atsu at the Jubilee House on Monday, February 28.
During the meeting, the President assured the family of Christian Atsu that government will be on hand to provide every needed support.
