Pressure of losing previous games affected our first half against Hearts of Oak - Medeama boss Nebojsa Kapor

Medeama head coach, Nebojsa Kapor, attributed his team's sluggish first-half performance against Hearts of Oak to the pressure of consecutive defeats in previous league matches.

The Mauve and Yellows were dominated in the first half of the Ghana Premier League week 25 game but rebounded in the second half to win the clash.

The Tarkwa-based side secured a 2-0 victory over the Phobians at the Akoon Park on Wednesday following 1-0 losses to Accra Lions and FC Samartex.

Reflecting on the match, Kapor acknowledged the challenging nature of the encounter, especially in the first half, attributing the team's struggles to the pressure of recent losses.

Despite making some basic mistakes early on, Medeama managed to regroup and deliver an improved performance in the second half, resulting in a 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak.

“This match was very tough especially in the first half maybe because of pressure because we lost two matches.

“This is always something very difficult for players; we made some basic mistakes but after we calmed down a little and achieved a good performance and this is the reason why we scored two goals and won this match.”

The match saw goals from Kobina Amoah and Godfred Abban, propelling Medeama to a crucial win that lifted them to fifth place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
