Communications Director of Medeama SC, Patrick Akoto, says the club’s previous run in the CAF inter-club competition will aid them in their upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.

The Ghana Premier League champions will take on Nigerian side Remo Stars in the first round of the competition on August 20.

Speaking in an interview with Citi Sports, Akoto pointed to Medeama’s 2017 run in the CAF Confederation Cup as a learning phase the club will use in the upcoming tournament.

“It’s about investment, it’s about incentives, it’s about getting the right quality players to compete at the top level, it’s about getting the resources required to make travel arrangements very easy," he told Citi Sports.

"[We’ve learnt from] all these challenges and we are experienced. So we will take all the experience and see how it goes," he added.

The Yellow and Mauve will host Remo Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium in the first leg of the preliminary round of games on August 20 before travelling to Abuja for the return leg.
