Previous experience helping Bekui in Spain

Extremadura UD striker Lawson Bekui insists working with European coaches whilst in Oman has helped him to settle in Spain quickly.

Bekui joined Spanish Segunda B side UD Extremadura from Omani club Al Dhofar in the January transfer window and has risen to become the first-choice striker in the B side.

The former Dreams FC forward maintains that he has adapted quickly because he had a fair idea of what most European coaches and managers require.

“Extremadura is a good team with lots of good players. For me, getting settled here quickly is due to the exposure I had in Oman, I worked with European coaches there and it has helped me a lot,” Bekui told footballmadeinghana.com

“Moreover, it is football and what you have no matter the place you find yourself no one can take it from you unless you let it go by yourself by not getting serious,”

Bekui netted 25 goals in all competitions for Al Dhofar in Oman last season and has already scored in his Extremadura B debut.

He is expected to gain promotion to the A side in the coming weeks.
