First Vice Chairman of Asante Kotoko's National Circles Council Nana Kwame Dankwah has revealed that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has tasked Prosper Narteh Ogum to build a formidable side ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.

Narteh Ogum has made a return to the club following a meeting between Otumfuo, the legends of the club and the supporters' leadership.

Following his reappointment, the former WAFA coach has been tasked to build a team that will compete in the medium and the long term.

"The King (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) today after touring Adako Jachie Complex engaged the leadership of Asante Kotoko NCC, together with the legends, they addressed the technical team," Nana Kwame Dankwah told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

"Otumfuor advised that the technical team led by Prosper Ogum should build a formidable side not with the sole purpose of winning the league in the short term but a side that will be reliable and competitive in the medium and long term," he added.

Prosper Narteh Ogum had his first stint with the club prior to the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season after ending his stay with WAFA.

In his first season, he led the Porcupine Warriors to Premier League glory but left the club in his second season due to a misunderstanding with the management.

The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League is expected to get underway in September later this year.
