Prosper Narteh Ogum understands Asante Kotoko and doesn’t need to be told what to do - Bobbie Ansah

Former Asante Kotoko defender, Akwasi Bobbie Ansah, has shared his insights on the newly appointed head coach of the club, Prosper Narteh Ogum.

He stated that he doesn't anticipate the coach to make extensive changes to the squad.

Ogum's return to Asante Kotoko comes after his departure from the club in 2022, during which he guided them to a momentous Ghana Premier League title win after an eight-year drought.

Now, as the 45-year-old coach takes the reins once again, he is expected to lead the team's recruitment efforts and oversee pre-season training in preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 season, with the goal of reclaiming the prestigious premiership title.

According to Akwasi Bobie Ansah, who has knowledge of the club and its dynamics, Ogum is fully aware of the pressure that comes with managing Asante Kotoko and, as such, may not feel compelled to make significant changes to the existing squad.

Ansah believes that some members of the team need time to develop and reach their full potential.

In his interview with Kessben Sports, he stated, "He (Ogum) understands that there is a lot of pressure so he doesn’t need to be told what to do. The players need another chance to continue. It was the first season or second for some of them. They now appreciate the pressure so let’s give them the chance to continue."
