Paris saint Germain defenderMarquinhos looks set to turn down interest from Chelsea and Barcelona in order to sign a four-year contract extension at the French champions, according toreports, according to a report inYahoo.

The 22-year-old starred in PSG's emphatic 4-0 Champions League win over Barcelona last Tuesday, and now he looks set to commit his future to the club despite interest from a number of top European sides.

The Brazilian defender signed for PSG back in 2013 for £26m, and despite speculation over his future popping up every transfer window, he has decided to stay-put in Paris.

But Marquinhos' contract extension presents another issue for the Parisian club, as they would be in breach of Financial Fair Play regulations, meaning that a few star players may need to be offloadedthis summer.

PSG beat Arsenal to the signature of Julian Draxler in January with the German winger signing from Wolfsburg in a £34m deal. They also signedBenfica winger Goncalo Guedes for £25m, meaning that they will have to curb spending and sell a few players in the summer in order to avoid FFP sanctions.

With Marquinhos looking set to stay at the club, other players likeMarco Verratti, Adrien Rabiot, Blaise Matuidi, Javier Pastore and Hatem Ben Arfa may have to be sold instead.
