PSG Linked With £40m Coutinho Bid While Ronaldinho Speaks of Barcelona's 'Admiration'

Liverpool will reportedly have to brace themselves for a sizeable offer for Philippe Coutinho when the transfer window re-opens next week as Paris Saint-Germain plan an approach to prise the Brazilian star away from Anfield.

It seems that PSG will not be shy in coming forward and, according to the Daily Express, will offer Liverpool £40m as well as a lucrative 'double-your-money' contract for Coutinho.

The reigning French champions are thought to have already at least partially agreed a January deal for German international Julian Draxler, but it seems more spending is in order after falling behind Nice and Monaco in the Ligue 1 title race.

It is suggested in the Express report that Coutinho is aware of PSG's interest and is becoming unsettled by the links to European giants where the path to silverware is much clearer than at Liverpool - Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also credited with interest.

Coutinho, who is close friends with Barcelona's Neymar, is apparently open to a move to Camp Nou in particular, although if that were to happen it would not be until the end of the season.

Though strongly rumoured for several weeks, former Barça superstar Ronaldinho has now lifted the lid on the club's growing "admiration" for Coutinho.

"I hope when he returns from injury that he will continue the form he has been showing all season with Liverpool. He has been one of the stand out players in Europe this season “ and I know there is a lot of admiration of him at Barcelona," the legend told the Sun.

"Liverpool will want to keep him, they have built the team around him. But when you play at that level then there is always interest."

Last month it was rumoured that Liverpool would not accept anything less than £68m for Coutinho, a fee that would make him one of the most expensive players in the world and only marginally cheaper than Luis Suarez when he moved to Catalunya in 2014.
