Pundit Mark Lawrenson Backing Bournemouth to Earn a Point in Weekend Clash With Liverpool

BBC pundit and former Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson has predicted a 1-1 draw for his former side when they visit Dean Court on Sunday.

Despite Liverpool's strong start to the season, which sees them sit just one point off Chelsea atthe business end of the Premier League and in the semi final of the EFL Cup, Lawrenson believes that without Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, they are much less potent attacking proposition.

The former Republic of Ireland player also credited Bournemouth with being good enough to take points off the Merseysiders on their own turf.

The Cherries played some nice football and created chances at Emirates Stadium and I am sure they will do the same on Sunday “ I think they might get something from the game this time too, Lawrenson said tothe BBC Sport website.

"Liverpool looked a little lethargic in their EFL Cup win over Leeds without the injured Philippe Coutinho, and I don't think Adam Lallana is fit to return yet either.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has got other options up there “ Roberto Firmino could move into the Coutinho role, for example, and Divock Origi could come in to their front-line “ but it does leave Liverpool a little less potent in attack.

Lawrenson's pessimism in JurgenKlopp's side is somewhat surprising, as the Redsare unbeaten in their last 15 across all competitions, having played some of the season most exciting football and are the division's top scorers.

They will face a Bournemouth side in mixed form. While Eddie Howe's side have picked up 15 points so far this season and sit in 12th place, they have won only once in their last five Premier League fixtures.
