Puzzled Simon Mignolet Can't Work Out Why Liverpool Are So Inconsistent

Simon Mignolet admits Liverpool's players are confused by their inconsistent form. Jurgen Klopp's side brushed Arsenal aside as they claimed three points last Sunday.

It also kept up their remarkable record against the rest of the top six this season “ five wins and no defeats from nine games against the Gunners, Spurs, Chelseaand both Manchester clubs.

However, such great performances against the bigger clubs leaves fans wondering why their club fall flat against supposedly lesser clubs.

Liverpool go into gameweek 28 looking to take revenge on Burnley who beat them 2-0 at Turf Moor back in August, despite having only 19 percent possession. Something that Liverpool keeper Mignolet is wary about.

The Belgian said, via theDaily Star:On Sunday, when we came in for a recovery session, there was a stat on the television showing the points we've gained against the top four teams. It's a really good achievement but because of that, we also had mixed emotions.

"Against Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea, we played well and got the points we wanted, but we need to do it on a more consistent basis.

Klopp is fully aware that the club need to do better against teams lower down the league as they prepare to entertain Burnley this weekend at Anfield, with a win only acceptable or their chances of finishing in the Champions League spots will disappear.

Mignolet added: The aim now must be to try to win three points against Burnley, otherwise the performance against Arsenal will mean nothing.
