Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has described the country's qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup as like going to heaven.

The four-time African champions having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia have made a return to the world's biggest football tournament.

The Black Stars qualified for the Mundial scheduled to be hosted in Qatar at the expense of Nigeria after a two-legged tie.

Ghana has been housed in Grop H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

“A lot of us, don’t really understand what we have achieved or what we achieved in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022," he said during his address at the National Team Day ‘Walk with the Legends’ event held on Saturday.

"To be one of the countries at the World Cup, it’s like going to heaven…with the unity of purpose, our dear country is one of the 32," he added.

Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, GFA Vice President, Mark Addo, the Professional Association of Ghana’s Secretary General, Anthony Baffoe, and former Black Stars players participated in the walk with football enthusiasts.

The Black Stars will open camp on November 10 before taking on Switzerland on November 17 in Abu Dhabi in their final preparatory game.
