Rabiu Mohammed back in action with former club Anzhi Makhachkala

Rabiu Mohammed has rejoined Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala after spending two years on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old completed his return on Sunday, having seen a long injury spell ruin his first stint.

In summer 2016, the midfielder joined the Eagles on a three-and-a-half year deal from Kuban Krasnodar, but his fitness denied him an appearance, leading to the termination of his contract.

"Today Ghanaian midfielder [Rabiu Mohammed] signed an agreement with the club," Anzhi announced via their official website.

"The 28-year-old central midfielder is known to Russian football fans for his performances for Kuban Krasnodar, for whom he played more than 50 matches in various competitions.

"Recall that in 2016, the midfielder worked with Anzhi, but then a traumatic and prolonged rehabilitation [after an injury] did not allow him to appear in the team."
