Raheem Sterling's late winner ensured Manchester City stretched their winning streak in the Premier League to 11 games with a 2-1 victory against Huddersfield at the John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield broke the deadlock just before half-time, with Christopher Schindler's header from a corner going in off Nicolas Otamendi's shoulder for an own goal.

But City found themselves level shortly after the restart, with Sergio Aguero sending Jonas Lossl the wrong way from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling had been brought down by Scott Malone.

The visitors pushed for a winner as the second half went on but struggled as Aguero was denied by Lossl and Leroy Sane crashed a free kick against the woodwork.

But they found a breakthrough in the 84th minute when Sterling forced home a rebound after Gabriel Jesus's effort was saved by Lossl.

The result means City are now eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
