Ramadan Cup 2019: Nima beats all to emerge winners

Nima, the headquarters of all Zongos, proved their nettle on Saturday beating Fadama in the final at the Kotobabi Wembley Park to emerge winners of the 2019 edition of the Ramadan Cup.

This is the first time Nima have been able to win the Ramadan Cup despite being tipped for the glory since its inception in 2015.

Nima, who have been perennial under archivers in the 5-year old tournament started strongly in the preliminary stage, beating tournament favorites Kasoa.

Nima, who claims to be the ancestral home of the National chief Imam, went on to eliminate Darkuman, who had earlier had a walk over, after Nsawam failed to appear.

In the final match, Fadama, who are the landlords to the Chief Imam fought hard for the coveted trophy, but were heart broken when Nima struck in the dying minutes of the game.

Winners, Nima walked away with a boxer Motorcycle donated by Somoco Ghana Limited, one of the sponsors of the competition.

Electroland Ghana Limited, Distributors of Nasco products, also presented electronic items to the participating teams, and Players.
