Razak Pimpong's son Malik earns spot in Denmark U19 squad

Denmark's U17 head coach, Søren Hermansen, has unveiled his 20-man squad for the upcoming 2024 Internordic tournament, which includes promising talent Malik Pimpong, son of former Ghana striker Razark Pimpong.

Malik, aged 16, currently showcases his skills with the FC Midtjylland youth team, following in the footsteps of his father who also played for the Danish club.

Selected for Denmark's development team at Internordic, a friendly competition among Nordic nations like Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, Malik's inclusion marks a significant opportunity to demonstrate his potential.

While committed to representing Denmark at the youth level, Malik's selection does not preclude him from opting to play for Ghana's senior team in the future.

Razark Pimpong, Malik's father, boasts a notable international career with ten appearances for Ghana, including a memorable stint at the 2006 World Cup.

Denmark will commence their Internordic campaign against Finland U17 on August 1, followed by a fixture against Norway two days later. The tournament will conclude for Denmark with a match against Sweden on August 8.
