Real Madrid Handed Huge Injury Boost Ahead of Midweek Clash Against Valencia

Real Madrid face Valencia on Wednesday night as they play their game in hand picked up after their commitments in the Club World Cup in December.

Los Blancos are currently top of La Liga with a substantial lead over the likes of Barcelona and Sevilla and Zinedine Zidane has been handed a huge injury boost ahead of what is a crucial fixture.

Club captain Sergio Ramos is set to return to the starting lineup after missing Madrid's 2-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday.

The Spain international missed the victory over the Catalan club due to a hip injury picked up in the 3-1 win over Napoli at the Bernabeu.

Zidane is expected to recall a lost of rested stars at the Mestalla in the form of Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Keylor Navas, while Gareth Bale, who scored in his long-awaited return against Espanyol, is pushing for his first start in three months.

"We have a lot of games ahead and we need all the players," Zidane told Real Madrid's official website, as per Express.

The French manager was in good spirits though and expressed his happiness at the return of his Welsh star as Los Blancos approach their most important period of the campaign.

"He doesn't give the impression that he's been three months out," Zidane added. "He has a lot of power, makes a difference and that is why he is special."

After Champions League glory last year, Real are looking to become the first team to retain the coveted European trophy.

However, a league title would perhaps represent a bigger step after the recent La Liga dominance of Barcelona.
