Real Madrid president Florentino plans Mbappe swap offer after Monaco price hike

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is prepared to sacrifice Mateo Kovacic in order to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Having cleared Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez off the books, Florentino is ready to bid for Monaco superkid Mbappe.

Don Balon says Monaco have slapped a new €190m price-tag on the teen, though Florentino believes he can talk down their price.

And to help smooth negotiations, the president is willing to include Kovacic in their offer. The hope is the proposal will convince ASM to demand around €140-150m cash as part of the deal.

The transfer, however, could draw some push back from Real coach Zinedine Zidane, who has already spoken with the unsettled Kovacic about staying for next season.
