Real Madrid ready to swoop for unsettled AC Milan star

With his AC Milan future hanging in the balance, Real Madrid are ready to take advantage of any uncertainty by making a move for Spanish attacking midfielder Suso.

The former Liverpool man has established himself as a key figure at the Stadio San Siro since arriving in January 2015, but is reportedly unsettled and could be set to leave the club in the near future.

Whilst city rivals Inter had been linked with the Spaniard, Real Madrid have now emerged as contenders and Suso himself is keen on a move, according to Marca.

The 24-year-old has a keen admirer in new Merengues coach Julen Lopetegui, who had also considered drafting Suso into his squad during his recent stint at the helm of the Spanish national team. Meanwhile, the player has instructed his agent to negotiations for a return to his homeland.

Suso has a €38 million release clause in his contract, but given the financial fallout of Milan’s recent ban from European competition, effective this coming season, the Rossoneri may be forced to accept a lower figure for their key man.

The former Genoa loanee has scored 15 goals in 95 appearances for Milan, and lifted the Supercoppa Italiana with the club in 2016.
