Real Madrid senior players intervene over Perez plans for Icardi

Real Madrid senior players are lukewarm on the prospect of calling Mauro Icardi a teammate.

The Inter Milan captain has been pushing to join Madrid this month, knowing Real coach Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez are in the market for a striker signing.

Icardi has offered himself to Madrid, though the trail has gone cold since Christmas.

And Don Balon says the hesitation could stem from feedback via the Real locker room.

Several senior players have concerns about the former Barca player's ego and soapie lifestyle off the pitch involving his wife and agent, Wanda Nara.
