Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Leicester City, Carragher commented: "I must admit I don't know why Liverpool signed Wijnaldum. I just didn't know where he would fit in."

The former England international has subsequently been convinced by the 26-year-old who is a regular fixture in Klopp's starting XI. The Dutchman alsoscored a vital goal against Chelsea in the recent league fixture at Anfield.

The midfielder has started 21 of Liverpool's 26 league fixtures, in that time he has six assists andthree goals including the one against Chelsea to his name.

Unfortunately Wijnaldum could not prevent his Liverpool side from suffering a disappointing 3-1 defeat against reigning champions Leicester City, in Monday night's Premier League fixture.
