Referees performance in the first round was good but there is more room for improvement - Alex Anning

Referees Association of Ghana general secretary Alex Anning says referees' performance in the first round wasn't bad but they have to improve some aspects of their work on the pitch.

Referees have been heavily criticized for making mistakes in crucial games this season. Some clubs have filed complaints against referees in the first round. Latest is Asante Kotoko's complaint to GFA after their game against Dreams FC

“What I will say is that first we congratulate them because they have managed to hold on and the first round has ended. To be able to bring it to this far its by their hard work this does not mean there isn’t any short falls we are humans and most definitely there will be mistakes," he said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"There could be some mistakes so we can’t say the mistakes should over ride or cloud over whatever performance they have put up so far. So we congratulate them they have worked hard. But while we are about to go to the second round…there should be introspection they should go within themselves and look at where there was mistake and try to correct it,"

"So that the second round they can perform better than what they performed in the first round because in the last life we aspire to go higher so no matter the performance even if you perform 90% and next you expect to improve to get to the higher level,”
