Footballghana.com takes you down memory lane as we bring you a recap of when Black Stars legend Abedi Ayew Pele broke down into tears after Ghana beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the semi-finals of the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
After winning that game by two goals to one at the end of the 90 minutes, one would have thought that every player of the Black Stars will jubilate. Even if someone was going to shed tears, it will be tears of joy.
On this occasion, it was not. Abedi Pele who played outstandingly well for his team burst into tears at the end of the match because he knew he had picked up a booking that will make him miss the final match against Ivory Coast.
The Ghana and African legend cried inconsolably as his teammates carried him for his brilliant contribution.
