Ghana Premier League giant Obuasi Ashanti Gold inflicted a 3-0 painful defeat on Accra Great Olympics upon their return to the top-flight league last Sunday.
The two clubs locked horns at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium to fight for the first 3 points of the campaign on the opening weekend of the 2019/2020 season.
At the end of an entertaining fixture, the home team stamped their authority and posted a 3-0 win against the reinstated side.
Two first-half goals from Yussif Mubarik and Amos Addai were garnished by a penalty converted by captain Shafiu Mumuni in the second half to hand Ashgold the deserved win.
Though Great Olympics tried to get back into the game, their efforts were not enough as they returned to Accra empty-handed.
