Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen is reportedly going to be sacked this week after failing to lead the team to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Norwegian tactician was appointed as the club’s new coach four months ago to replace CK Akonnor who had then led the team to triumph in the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition tier 1.

Having prepared the team for the CAF Champions League, they failed the test of the final playoff round to the group stage where they were drawn to face Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel.

Fortunately for the Porcupine Warriors, they fell into the last playoff round to the Confederations Cup which presented them the opportunity of continuing their quest for continental success.

There they were paired with Ivorian side FC San Pedro. Kotoko managed to win the first leg by a lone goal to nil but after losing the second leg 2-0 in Abidjan today, they have disappointingly crashed out of the competition as well.

Information being gathered indicates that Coach Kjetil Zachariassen is facing the sack when the team arrives in Ghana.

It is understood that the management of the Kumasi-based club has been left disappointed with the kind of campaign he has had with the team and hence will show him the exit door.
