REVEALED: How Stephen Appiah's move to AC Milan broke down

Published on: 04 March 2021

In 2000, former Black Stars player Stephen Appiah was close to joining AC Milan but the move ultimately broke down according to Italian journalist Gianluica Di Marzio.

The Ghanaian had agreed a transfer to the Italian giants but it hinged on if Boban would retire that year.

Ultimately, Boban decided to play one more year with the club and they ended the agreement with Appiah who was with Udinese at the time.

However, they gave him a gold watch with the inscription “For you the doors will always be open.”

Ultimately, he continued his career in other clubs like Parma, Juventus and Fenerbache.

The veteran is now a brand ambassador for Betway and other brands.
