REVEALED: The man behind Neymar, Alves and Verratti PSG deals

Published on: 03 August 2017

Recently retired fullback Maxwell has played a key role in PSG's bank-busting deal for Barcelona star Neymar.

Barca announced on Thursday morning that Neymar could leave for Paris so long as PSG met his €222m buyout clause.

L'Equipe says key to the deal has been fellow Brazilian Maxwell, who has stayed in regular contact with Neymar since the end of last season.

Maxwell also was a major influence on Daniel Alves snubbing Manchester City for PSG after his release by Juventus last month.

The former fullback is acting as an assistant to sporting director Antero Henrique.

Interestingly, it's also been claimed it was Maxwell who convinced Marco Verratti to end his plans of moving to Barca this summer.
