Manchester United U23 fullback Joe Riley has revealed several of his teammates are set to be called into the Champions League squad for their clash with Benfica.
Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and James Wilson were all omitted from the Under-23 match against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, in which United won 1-0 courtesy of a Demetri Mitchell penalty.
Riley told MUTV that their absence from the side is due to the fact that they will be called up to the first team squad when the Portuguese giants come to Old Trafford on Tuesday.
He said: "Obviously we've got the game on Tuesday night and a few of the lads are playing in that.
"So some of the younger lads came in and did well."
