Rio Ave’s Emmanuel Boateng ruled out of action for few weeks with injury

Rio Ave's forward, Emmanuel Boateng, will be absent from Monday's Portuguese Liga showdown against Sporting due to a muscle injury.

The Ghanaian international was notably missing from the training session on Friday, marking him as the sole absentee.

This unfortunate circumstance leaves Head Coach Luís Freire without the services of Boateng for the upcoming match.

Boateng is currently grappling with a muscle injury in his right thigh, a condition that sidelined him during their recent league fixture against Famalicão.

According to the Rio Ave camp, the 27-year-old is expected to spend a few weeks in rehabilitation.

Emmanuel Boateng has already Rio Ave’s 1-1 draw at home to Famalicao two weeks ago and is yet to score this season after bagging six last season in the league.

In the ongoing season, Boateng has featured in six matches across various competitions for Rio Ave - participating in two League Cup fixtures and four league encounters.
