Anderlecht teenage sensation, Jeremy Doku, revealed that current Inter Milan star and fellow countryman Romelu Lukaku advised him to stay in Belgium three years ago.
During that time, Liverpool were on the hunt for Doku and invited him to look at the club's training facilities in bid to convince him but he chose to stay.
Since then, he has broken into the Anderlecht senior team and Belgium national team setup.
“That was when I was fifteen and I had to choose between staying with Anderlecht or going to Liverpool,” he told De Zondag.
"He [Romelu Lukaku] advised me to stay, but from the beginning my goal was to stay."
“I did listen to Romelu’s advice, but I make decisions about my future myself.”
