Russian Football Union Vice-President Simonyan heaps praise on Ghana ahead of Friendly game

First Vice-President of the Russian Football Union (RFS) Nikita Simonyan has said that the friendly match against Ghana will be a very good test for the Russian team.

The game scheduled to be played at the Moscow stadium "Locomotive" at 16:00 GMT, will be the second test for new manager Stanislav Cherchesova following his side’s 0-0 draw against Turkey on August 31 in Antalya.

“Ghana's national team is a very serious contender.” Nikita revealed. “The team against Ghana will be better prepared compared to the Turkey game.” “Turkey and Ghana are two good opponents; Ghana at the world championships made a very good and strong impression (in 2006 advanced to the round 16th, and in 2010 - in the 1/4 finals). So on Tuesday, the Russian national team will have a very good test.” He said.

The Golden Eagles will be using this test against the Black Stars as a build up towards hosting the 2018 world cup while Avram Grant trims the rough edges in his team ahead of the world cup qualifier against Uganda next month.
