Sabit Abdulai hoping for a permanent Getafe deal

Ghanaian youngster, Sabit Abdulai believes he has done his best with merit a permanent deal from Spanish La Liga side, Getafe.

The enterprising midfielder joined Getafe on loan from UD Extremadura.

His 5-year deal with Extremadura is expected to expire at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old featured against Barcelona in Getafe’s 5-2 defeat on April 22 at the Camp Nou.

And according to Abdulai, he believes he has proved himself enough to merit a permanent deal with the La Liga side

“I don’t know what they [Getafe] want to see again," the former Spartans FC midfielder told BBC Africa Sports.

“From my perspective, I think I have done my best.

“Now I’m looking at them, the decision is in their hands,” Abdulai added.

Abdulai had a torrid time settling in Europe due to paperwork leading to a back and forth sojourns in Spain and Portugal.

He landed in Spain from Ghana lower-tier side, Spartans FC in a bid to sign for Deportivo Alaves in 2017.

He was however moving away after months of trials to the Portugal side, Rio Ave after paperwork dashed his hopes of signing for the Spanish side.

Portugal was not successful and a return to Spain saw him join lower-tier side, UB Conquense where he trained for three weeks before Extremadura UD snapped him up in July 2018.

Initially, he signed on loan but after impressing in his opening few matches, he was handed a permanent five-year contract.

The former Ghana U-20 star is expected to return to Extremadura at the end of the season to determine whether he is staying or not.
