Liverpool's top scorer is confident Liverpool will be the winning side in the Saturday's game at Anfield - he feels Liverpool are a side that can beat anyone, and that they will prove that against City.

We know we can beat every team in the league and so we are only focusing on ourselves. We don't have to think too much about City. We will give our best to win the game.

It will be a very good game because it is two open teams and everyone will be excited to play this game. Maybe we have the best strikers, I can't say, in our mind it is not about being the best, it is about trying to score as many as we can. The most important thing is the three points."

Also he admits that beating City will be a confidence booster for his side.

Of course, it would help us make a big step if we won, but not just City, we have to try and do that in every game. I just have to try and give my best and make the fans and my team-mates proud.

Although Mane is expected to feature against City, his side will soon be without him in what is a crucial month for Liverpool, as he departs for theAfrican Cup of Nations, and depending on how far he goes in the tournament, he risks missing the Chelsea match - but he insists Liverpool will cope withouthim.

"It will not be easy for me to go with Senegal next month.

"I will be wishing them good luck but without me the team will be the same. Even better I think. They will cope. Coutinho will come back. Matip will come back and Sturridge is back now."
