Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane knows fans are nervous about him joining up with the Senegal squad this week.
For victory at West Ham on Saturday, Mane was making his first appearance in over a month after pulling up with a hamstring injury while on international duty.
Senegal face a double-header against South Africa knowing just a point should be sufficient to book their place in next summer's World Cup.
“It was not easy. Not just for the fans but especially me," said Mane.
“Every single player loves to play. You have to accept an injury and work hard to come back strong.
“Everyone knows what it would mean for Senegal to get to the World Cup. Hopefully we can qualify.
“It is going to be a tough game. They are not in good form but we respect them a lot.
"We know we have a great team and we can win."
