Southampton head coach Ralph Husenhuttl has revealed the Mohammed Salisu is in contention to start his first Premier League game against Brighton.

The 20-year-old was recruited in the summer transfer window from Real Valladolid but had not started any game for the Saints since.

After a long wait, the gaffer informed the press of his availability.

"Salisu is coming back now and is also maybe part of the squad for the weekend (against Brighton)," Hasenhuttl said in a press conference ahead of the Brighton game.

"We must have a look how far he is. Then we have more alternatives, this is good for me."

"Yes, definitely. He looks good now and hopefully he stays fit now and he’s available for the next games because now comes a very busy period and we need every player now."

Salisu is yet to play for the Black Stars.
