Togbe Afede XIV, the Executive Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak believes Samuel Boadu was misled into the inner perimeter of the Accra Stadium during the club’s 1-0 win over AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Boadu, who was sacked in September after a poor start into the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season was spotted at the stadium to whip up support for the team.

However, the former Medeama SC boss was slammed by the management of the Phobians for entering into the inner perimeter of the Accra Stadium to meet the playing body before the commencement of Sunday’s match with AS Real Bamako.

Commenting on the post-match incidents at the Accra Stadium, Togbe Afede explained that the board was aware of the people who misled Coach Boadu into doing what he did on the match day.

He asked all stakeholders of the club to come together to ensure that Hearts is restored to its glory days.

“It was an unfortunate situation but we know those who are behind all these things and I wonder what they seek to achieve,” Togbe Afede XIV in a press confernece on Wednesday.

“I’ve known Samuel Boadu for a long time and I can tell you that he was misled by some people to go into the inner perimeter.

“He has reached out to me with an apology and we don’t bear grudges with him. As a club, we believe that it was poor security measures that got our former coach into the inner perimeter and we have to sort that out," he added.

Hearts of Oak were eliminated after a 3-1 aggregate scoreline in favor of the Malian side.

Serbian trainer, Slavko Matic has been named as Samuel Boadu's successor on a two-year deal.
