Hearts of Oak defender, Samuel Inkoom has apologized to fans of the club for their terrible performance in the concluded 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians came close to suffering relegation from the topflight but a final-day draw against Berekum Chelsea helped them to keep their status intact.

Hearts of Oak finished 12th place with 46 points under David Ocloo as interim coach.

However, Inkoom has apologized to the and has urged the fans to keep supporting the club ahead of the new season.

“I will just say that the playing body didn’t do what we are supposed to do to make the fans happy that is why now every fan is mad at us. They have every right,” he told Citi TV.

“I will apologize on behalf of the team. They should forgive us but I want to tell them that the team is for them whether they like it or not,” he added

Hearts of Oak will be looking at the new season with a lot of intent as they hope to bounce back from a dreadful Ghana Premier campaign they endured in the 2022/2023 season.
