Samuel Inkoom bemoans referee's decisions in Hearts of Oak's loss to Samartex

Former FC Basel player and current Hearts of Oak defender Samuel Inkoom expressed his disappointment with the referee's decisions during the match against Samatex on Sunday, May 8, 2023.

The game, which took place at the Sunyani Coronation Park, saw Samatex secure a 3-2 victory over Hearts of Oak.

Inkoom stated that some of the referee's calls were uncalled for and negatively affected the game's quality.

"I have to say, I am very very disappointed about the referees,” he said after the game. “Some of the decision are very bad. We have to make the game beautiful. We want football, and Ghana is a football nation. The passion is going down because some of the decisions are not good. To be honest they are uncalled for."

Despite Inkoom's disappointment, Hearts of Oak fought hard during the match, with Gideon Asante for the Phobians in the 42nd and Linda Mtange in the 63rd minutes, giving them the lead after conceding an early goal in the fourth minute from Samatex's Kwasi Fosu.

However, Emmanuel Keyeke's goal in the 80th minute levelled the game, and Dauda Yussif Seidu scored in the 94th minute to secure the win for Samatex.

With this victory, Samatex moves up to the eighth position on the league table with 38 points, while Hearts of Oak remains in fifth place with 45 points, just one point ahead of their rivals Asante Kotoko who have 44 points.

The Ghana Premier League is heating up with only a four matches left to play.
