Hearts of Oak defender, Samuel Inkoom has called on the supporters of the club to stay united following their win over Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians dominated the headlines for the wrong reasons prior to their matchday 20 clash against the rivals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Some sections of the fans prevented the head coach of the side, Slavko Matic from holding training sessions with the playing body ahead of the clash.

Assistant Coach, David Ocloo took charge of the team in Sunday’s triumph over the Porcupine Warriors with Konadu Yiadom scoring the only goal of the game in the 57th minute.

However, the future of Matic at the club remains uncertain as some fans want his exit.

“The most important thing we have to do is to come together. Without the players, there will not be any team," the former Black Stars right back said after the game as reported by Citi Sports.

“Without the supporters, there will not be any player.

“We have to keep the spirit. I was so happy. You can see the fans everybody was together.”

“That’s the beauty of the game," he added.

The win has propelled to the Rainbow Club to the 5th position with 31 points.

Having lifted the President’s Cup, Hearts of Oak will hope to maintain their impressive when they travel to Bibiani Gold Stars in the matchday 21 games.
