Samuel Obeng to feature for Real Oviedo in derby against Sporting de Gijón

Ghanaian striker, Samuel Obeng will be available to feature for his Real Oviedo outfit on October 11 during the international break after missing out on a call-up to the Black Stars team.

The forward impressed for the Ghana U-23 team last year during the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations tournament hosted in Egypt.

While he remains one of the attackers continually being monitored by Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor, Samuel Obeng missed the latest call-up made by the gaffer ahead of the upcoming international break.

His exclusion from his national team is however good news for his club Real Oviedo. The club is scheduled to face off with rivals Sporting de Gijón on October 11 and will, fortunately, have the services of the young forward.

It is a big boost for Real Oviedo head coach Cuco Ziganda who is hoping to win the derby during the international break.

This season, Samuel Obeng has featured in 3 matches for his club but is yet to score or provide an assist.
