Save about 5 to 10 million this year on your proposed expenditure – Kotoko CEO to GFA

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to save at least 5 million from the money they are expected to spend this year.

At the GFA’s 26th Ordinary Congress, delegates have approved a gargantuan budget for the association for the year.

Waving into the budget which creates the picture of the GFA’s intention to spend every penny available, Nana Yaw Ampomah has appeared troubled and worried.

In an interview, the Asante Kotoko CEO has urged the Ghana FA to try and save about 5 to 10 million this year on its proposed expenditure.

“For me as an Association, we should be working towards saving for the future conceding what COVID-19 has done to us.

“If you look at the total budgeted expenditure is exactly the same figure as the total budgeted revenue so is must of an intention to spend every pesewa that we bring in but I don’t think is good for an Association like ours”, Nana Yaw Amponsah said in an interview.

He added, “Of course you can exceed your revenue target or you can have less same applies to your expenditure as the Vice President rightly said is a flexible budget.

“But I will admonish the leadership to try and at least save about 5 to 10 million this year on the proposed expenditure so that going forward we can build so good revenue in our accounts for future rather than thinking of spending everything that comes in, for me is a word of advice”.

Meanwhile, many are raising questions about the monthly and sitting allowances to be received by the GFA president Kurt Okraku and his Executive Council.

Kurt Okraku will be receiving a monthly allowance of GHs12,000 and with a sitting allowance of GH¢1,600. His vice pocket GHs7000 and a sitting allowance of GH¢1,400.
