In a promising development for SC Freiburg, coach Christian Streich has provided an update on the recovery journey for Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.
The offensive player, who suffered a devastating cruciate ligament tear approximately nine months ago, is showing signs of improvement.
However, Streich refrained from giving a specific timeframe for Kyereh's return to training, emphasizing the importance of a cautious approach in the rehabilitation process.
According to head coach Christian Streich, the 27-year-old is presently engaging in running training.
“It’s better now,” said Streich. “We’ll see that he no longer has any problems running.”
“I can’t make a prediction,” Streich added.
Kyereh signed a contract with Bundesliga club SC Freiburg on June 27, 2022. On October 1, 2022, he scored his first competitive goal for Freiburg in a league match against Mainz.
He scored his first goal in European football five days later, in a 2-0 win over FC Nantes in the Europa League group stage.
