Fabio Capello has criticised Serie A refereeing, saying that the officiating in the Premier League is like you’re watching a different sport.
As many as four different managers were sent off in Serie A at the weekend as both Luciano Spalletti and Jose Mourinho were sent off in the same game on Sunday. Gian Piero Gasperini was also sent off in Atalanta’s game against Udinese.
Capello spoke to Il Messaggero about refereeing in Serie A and stated: “When I see the Premier League, I feel like I’m watching another sport. And it also depends on the referees.”
“Does this seem possible to you? Serie A is the only place in the world where it happens. Evidently something has broken in the relationship between the coaches and the world of referees”.
