According to club-based source L'Interista, Inter Milan CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, has just turned down Schalke 04 management over Italian U21 international centre-back Lorenzo Pirola.

The 2002-born, who turned 19 last February 20, used to play for second-tier Monza, where he fought his way to bump-up promotion (though not achieving it, eventually), throughout latest season. While Neroazzurri boss, Simone Inzaghi, might end up providing him the chance to shine and be part of his first-team masterplan, Inter backline wonderkid might be headed for a loan move out again.

German club, relegated to second-tier last May, had offered Serie A defending champions one million euros for signing Pirola on a loan spell, attaching a 5 million euros proposal for a mandatory buy-back move.
