Back into Sampdoria ranks, 23-year old German centre-back Julian Chabot managed to stand out as a Spezia powerhouse, throughout latest loan-spell Serie A season. Currently on a deal with Blucerchiati until June 2024, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt alumni, previously playing for Groningen as well, stated:
"We agreed on the loan pretty quickly last September. After my first year at Sampdoria, it was important for me to be able to collect playing time and prove myself in Serie A. And now after the year, I'd say it was, by and large, the right move. Of course, relegation was the number one goal, as Spezia had only just been promoted for the first time. I think we could have had even less pressure at the back in the end. I played a lot and felt very comfortable. So I'm glad how it went - that was very important for my development".
