Serie A SAMPDORIA: THE PRESENTATION OF AUDERO
Born of an Indonesian father and an Italian mother. Emil Audero, the Blucerchiati’s new goalkeeper, took some time to talk about his background as well as his aims following his arrival at the club.
“I was only in Indonesia for the first year of my life. We then moved to Turin, where I came through the youth ranks at Juventus and with the national team,” he said.
“My role model has to be Gianluigi Buffon because I grew up at Juve’s academy, a hundred metres away from him. I’d watch him and use him as an example to follow.
“I’m a fairly straightforward keeper. I don’t try to do too much or write myself into legend.
“The fact Sampdoria have had some great keepers is a great motivation for me to do well and to stay as long as possible.”
